1965 Galaxie 500 Carb leaks

I just inherited a 1965 Galaxie 500 with a 390 V8. The car hasn't run in over 4 years. I was able to get it fired yesterday but the front float bowl on the 4 bbl carb is leaking horrifically! There is a rubber plug which is openned by the linkage and it doesn't seem to seal correctly. Does anyone have experience with these carbs? Where do I start on reparing it?

Thanks!

What kind of carb is it? 2bbl, 4bbl, holley, etc? Square flange or spreadbore?

The float and/or inlet valve are sticking open and flooding out the vent hole. It could be varnish from old gas, dirt, or the valve could be wore out. Ford 4bbl carbs are not hard to rebuild as long as the throttel shafts are not worn.
