ok guys, i'm searching for my transmission, i need to know exactly what will work with my car, its an 89 Civic Hatchback, d15b2 5 speed. what transmissions can i get that will work with it??? i need to know ASAP
please help guys thanx

ZC transmission with an Si final drive
![]() What's wrong with the DX transmission? I'm a weird kind of guy, because I actually like how it's geared.... seems just right for me.

..essentially any tranny from a 88-91 civic/crx will 'technically' work...

JDM DOHC ZC transmission
USDM: D16A6 Si D15B2 DX D15B6 HF D15B1 STD 4 speed any d series transmission will work, even the 92+ hydraulic trannies, although you'll need the kit to swap to hydraulic transmission as well as a B series mount kit.l |

so i can use ANY 4th gen tranny without modifying anything?!?! someone said theres a difference on starter locations on some :S
i called and found one for my car (dx tranny) for 150 dollars cnd with 132000 km on it what should i look for when getting it??

spin the input shaft to check that it spins freely (it will be a little bit tight, but you shouldn't have to strain).
check the input shaft for side to side play inspect the axle receiving holes for any stripped gears or broken pieces. Also, its not a bad idea to take the drain plug out to check for any metal shavings in the oil, or to see if its black (it shouldn't be). |

Yeah, I love my D16A8 with original tranny, rebuilt it, cant fault it.

we got the tranny already, i havent seen it yet. my dad bolted it on already tho, not 100% done, still need oil and gotta put the axles, battery and intake back in, then its done, i wanted 2 get an Si tranny but my dad said just get the one i already called about
