Question Need some info on 87 Burban

I recently purchased an 87 suburban. It is in pretty good shape, but ofcourse I am having a couple issues. First, this thing burns about a qt. of oil a week, I believe it is a piston ring...any comments/advice on how to fix or slow the leak? Also I would like to redo the interior and change the color and possibly get newer seats. Could anyone offer advice perhaps on how involved a process this is and where I can get the best bang for my buck for replacement seats. Thank you for any help in advance ~ Vito

Re: Need some info on 87 Burban

if your vehicle puffs a blue cloud or smoke when you first start it for the day then your valve seals are leaking. if it smokes when you let up on the gas descending a hill then it's blowing by the rings. interior, can't help you on that.
