Re: more power

you could always install a K&N air filter it helps a little bit. i installed one in my 2000 corolla and it makes the engine a little more throatier and seems to have a little more kick to it. it's no big gain though your not going to be tearing up the pavment with just that. i don't recommend those high performance intakes you see on ebay and other performance sites because the majority of them are wide open in the engine compartment near the engine when installed and what you want to stay away from on your intake is heat. these high performance intakes may let more air in which does help but since they are so close to the engine you are getting more hot air in which is not the greatest if your looking for performance you want the air to be as cold as possible. that's why i went with the K&N because it installs in my stock airbox and the car also has a pipe that sits right behind the front grill that takes the air before it gets to the engine and pushes it directly into the airbox keeping the air cooler then the air filter being right ontop of the engine sucking in hot air. the only high performance air intake i found to be better than the rest was the dragon filter. they do sell that on ebay and other web sites. what i like about this filter is that you can buy a heat shield for it and also a hose which you can snake to a point underneath your hood wear cooler air can be taken from. it's basically a cheap form of ram air in a sense. if you want to do a good job it wont be to cheap. you can add an ignition booster, maybe one of those high performance mufflers (they will make your car sound like a weed wacker though) but they will add a little more performance, you could aways go nitrous but that is only temporary and pretty expensive to do and complicated to install(your engine will have to be set up the right way or you could blow your engine in a second with this stuff), there are other ways to do things but they are not really worth the effort or money because you will see little to almost no gain from them.

Sell your car and buy another one. Steer well clear of autos.
