Which turbo is compatible with my car?
i have a 99 acura integra gsr and im going to go get a turbo from a junkyard. I want to get a turbo with low milage off a car but dont know which ones are compatible. I was told i could use a volvo turbo...but i wasnt told of what model. If this is true please tell me along with any other cars.

Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
cool cuz im doin a port and pollish and getting titanium pistons and rods, new oil lines, and was told a bunch of stuff to do. Is the sleeve the top of the engine that says vtec? someone told me i need to resleeve my engine or it will walk. If you know what needs to be done when getting a turbo anything you know will help you know your shit and i just wanna know my shit...and smoke the shit out of people. Last thing people keep making fun of my engine, I thought i have a great engine...i have a friend with a h22 and he has limited slip and e/h/i and he smoked the hell out of me, with a turbo and the stuff i have now(its listed below this)done to my car can i beat him...sorry i know i talk alot i just want to get knowledge while i can cuz most people will look at this but never say shit.

Re: Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
re sleving the block is not nuthin to do with the head the combustion chamber has to be re sleved you know the place where the pistons and rods make compression with the gas n air mix..
man you really need to do your reasearch or else youll get rip off. im not to sure about the titanium pistons.. sounds like fast n furious stuf i heard of forged pistons n rods.. also make sure that the compression is lowered i recomend 8.5\9.0:1 thats good for turbo. make sure this guy isnt rippin you off do your self the favor. read up on building motors for turbo, do the google search go through the links, read all the info and make sure you know wat you are getting you self into knowledge is power. if you got more quest. ask and well try to answer them good luck 1

Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
yea thats why im trying to ask a bunch of questions. Im getting the turbo from a junkyard and my friend got his for like 200 but he doesnt know shit about them his dad did all the work. How do i lower my compression cuz mine is at 10.24:1(he he i used a combustion calculator on a site)but i thought it was 10:1 it probably is just rounded. I was told i need to build the bottom of my engine for a turbo or the engine will fry. I saw a t3/t4 hybrid complete setup for like 3200 it said 260hp im thinkin theres no way its gonna give me that but bring my engine to that. It was the whole setup, the piping, intercooler, turbo, hoses and the rest of the shit. is that a decent price for a new one? Cuz i want a used slightly used one for right now and then just get the best of the best shit to build up my engine and then after that get a little money sell the old one and buy a new one. Good advice thanks alot.

Re: Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
-you lower compression by installin pistons and rods that will do tha and by changing your head gasket,
-the turbo kit WILL give you about 260hp on a well tuned b16 motor. thats only if you have proper fuel managment and. my friend has a 95 civic with a ls\vtec and he makes 275hp@wheels and 270lb on a stock motor and 8psi but his motor fuel and spark and timing is well tuned he has it dynoed tuned, spend hours on the dyno tunning it but its worth it. 1

AC Gsr, no offense, but sounds like you need to leard a whole lot more about engines and things before you go about putting on a turbo. I don't mean that in an offensive way at all, i am just trying to look out for you and your engine. Titanium rods=really bad idea. First off, they are way to expensive, second, they would never work in a street car. You see, titanium is a metal that likes to gall others metals. That means that if you use them in a street car, your crankshaft would be all scarred up and your bearings would be shot in no time. I know we all gotta learn about this kinda stuff at some point and i'm sure you are just getting into the scene of tuning. I respect your wanting to gain knowledge and will be willing to help you in anyway. Just be sure to know what you are doing before you jump into it.....so it will get done the right way the first time.

Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
the h22 was in a 96 integra gs. yea dude i take no offense to it and i really want to learn. what rods and pistons should i go with? I have been looking at some sites on google search and they are a little too in depth with some shit. Talking about milling and it really confused me more than helped me. But i do know that if i try to boost high i have to make sure my combustion stays low enough or my engine will detinate. I really dont want projectiles coming out of my car unless its a spitfire exaust kit which looks pretty cool. I want to get a turbo that doesnt have to get up to 7000 rpm before my car ell move but i want one that will give me a lot of boost cuz my top end fuckin sucks. my accel is pretty good with the stuff i have but to tell the truth my kick ass gear is like 3rd but i want to anihilate people that keep saying my car sucks. I know it takes a lot of money but i have like 30 g's to spend...yes i know why not buy a supra or something. I like this car and it was the first car that i could afford...its not cheap but its not 35 or 40 g's. Can i go twin turbo or will it blow my engine? Aslo is my engine good cuz my friend has an h22 with h/e/i and a limited slip and he kicked my ass. It made me mad cuz he is the cockies person in the world and i like proving cocky people wrong. Last thing i posted a message but no one will answer it. Can you install a mugan chip in a obdII ecu, i was told it is a pain and not worth it but for like 18 hp ill do it. I heard something like you have to unsolder the old one and solder the new in but i dont know if its true. If so my friend can do all that and is really good so ill do it.

Re: Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
je pistons and crower robs kick ass, knife edged crank and darton sleaves are good and apr (i think) head bolts..
as long as you dont use and outragous turbo like a t-88 of a t51 then youll be ok just use a small turbo one that flows at about 45-55lb air you will be fine a greedy td-06 or 16 td-05 is good also a t04e basicall anyting with a mild trim like a 50mm trim is good.. jus do ther reasearch.. 1

turbo tnr is right, those are all good brands. The knife edge counterweghts on the crank really help it move through the oil, ass long as the leading edge is bullnosed and the trailing is knife edged. Its ARP head bolts, and if i were you i would get ARP in any bolt they make for your engine. They really make a difference. If you got that kinda money to spend, then i would strock your engine to a 2.0L bring the comp to about 9.3:1, sleeve the block, build the bottom end, put your stock cams back in and run about 12-15 lbs of boost. Make sure to rebuild your head while you are at it. Working on your exhaust will actually give you more power in a turbo setup than working on the intake. Bigger valves (tulip style) and a port and polish would help the turbo spool faster. There is a ton and i mean ton of in depth things that we could sit an talk about, but it all depends on how well yoou want your car to run. And yes you will be able to kill your friends car.

Re: Which turbo is compatible with my car?
it is really important to get the lightest, strongest flywheel possible. Shaving it just a little will be like taking 50 pounds off the car i was told. Do you know about ecu chips like mugan and spoon? Do you know about OBDI and OBDII ecu's cuz i was told installing a chip will give me a shit load of horse power...yes it does depend on what you have done to your engine before you put it on by how much youll get. I was told you can get up to 25 horses with a chip and a bunch of stuff done to your engine before. If you do know about the OBDII can i just unsolder the stock chip and resolder a mugan chip in or do i need a socket adapter or thats just the begining of a whole crap load of stuff. Whats the highest liters i can get my car...cuz im greedy. In your opinion which makes a better turbo greddy or turbonetics (i keep seeing the name but i dont feel like looking it up on how to spell it) or how ever the hell you say it.
