Red face Installing Sway Bars to a 97 RS... Need Help!

Here's the link off ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33592

Bought these sway bars here. Now I'm waiting for them to come. But while I do that, I wanna ask you guys if they will fit, or what I need to make it fit. Like would any lower control arm mounts work for these? Would that mean buying two lower control arms, since their made for the rear and I need front and rear mounts?

Um I really don't know a lot about these. I don't even know exactly where their supposed to be hooked up. I have to lift my car up and take a look. Learning something new everyday, but not fast enough!

Yes both bars will fit your 97 RS. However because your RS did not come factory with a rear sway bar you will have to do one of two things: Buy the adapter kit from suspension techniques

http://www.stracing.com/pages/products.html

or buy lower control arms from SATAN for a GS/GST (the price actual is not that bad and they are NOT available from from parts stores, I have tried) because the GS/GST lower control arms had the mounts for the sway bar end links.

I want to say thanks for the reply first off.

But I am still confused on a few things. First is where can I buy a adapter kit online and how much does it cost?

Second is I didn't even know lower control arms exisited lol, so now I'm not sure which works better, etc.

The control arms sure do look a bit cheaper on ebay anyway.

There is an OBX one for about $60 shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33583

And some generic one for almost half price: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591

and another one here:

Well time ran out, I have to head to church, thanks in advance guys.

CODE4,

Rereading your post, I think you mean I get the lower control arms, just to use their mounts for the sway bar?

I wonder if those ones that I listed would work...

Hate to bump my thread so much, but I just bought this sway bar(s). And so I would need to know what else I need to make it fit now I guess.

Sorry about not replying, have not checked in for a bit.

The links you posted are not lower control arms. The OBX bar is a lower strut/tie bar. The lower control arms I am talking about go from the center support to the knuckle to each rear wheel. The RS bars do have places for the sway bar end links. However if you go to Suspension Techniques page, their application chart says to order a kit if there was no factory rear sway bar installed. I am not sure what that kit costs compared to two new rear lower control arms.
