For $500 you can do a lot. If you want, you can get this stuff.. clear corner turn signals, clear tail lights, and an slp spoiler, and you'll still have some money left over.

and another thing that everyone HAS to have is those extreme white 5200k headlights, cuz they look really nice, and they only cost like 40-50 dollars.

Re: 1st mod on car?????

well to get you spinning I would think of a DHP V1(The Burning Rom stated that V2 comes out soon) that costs around 400 and the trasher pulley that will go with the ECU(PCM) programming. That is a mod that is not that hard to make, is not that expensive either and you will see results just to start.
Then you can add the K&N air filter with the Chetah extention tube, other mod ease to do without tearing your engin appart.
Then you can add cam shafts, lighter valvetrain, a stronger fuelpump and
the Ripn12s and the Burning Rom could take you from there.

Scratch the pulley. If I'm not mistaken he's driving a GT.

What to do with $500........hmmmmmmm. The first thing I did to my car was to yank the factory mufflers. I didn't like the sound. That cost right around $250 at a muffler shop, installed. You could always trim the front off your air box for more flow.....that would cost you nothing. Unlesss, of course, you decided to put a K&N flat panel filter in there. That's about $40, I think.

Re: 1st mod on car?????

Carnut:

You are correct, doublechecked and he is driving a gt but pretty much everything else can be done. I installed on my car a panel K&N since the SLP hood is taking for ever to come out and been told by the Burning Rom that does not make a noticeable diffence and to tell you the truth so far (2 weeks with it installed) that assumption is correct.
Besides what I mentioned is there anything else you can do without taking the engine apart?

I would go with the exhaust first at a muffler shop, dont waste your money on those 500-600 dollar ones, to me they all do the samething in the end just sound different. Then do a CAI and maybe when you come into a bit more money you can do a TB from ZZP.

If you go with the new exhaust you may want to get the u-bend removed and the resonator if you want, possibly even the cat if you dont live in a state that does those smog tests.

$500 will buy you an Thrasher cold air induction system, 8mm Plug wires, and new spark plugs. Thats basically all you need unless you want to go more extreme and put a hydraulic cameshaft & lifters in.

Don't worry about having the u-bend removed, its not worth it at all! Muffler shops hate doing it because they have to drill a new hole for the O2 sensore and thread it out. Believe me they will charge you. All i would do is go out to a local advanced auto parts store, buy two dynomax super turbo mufflers 2 1/4in. offset inlet 2 1/4in. center out and some cheap cool looking 2 1/2in. inlet and 3 1/2in. outlet tips. I would have the resonator removed also. Having it removed is about a 6 HP gain and the loss of weight.

It be kind of hard making a functional ram air hood....A cold air induction is the best way.

Why wouldnt you get the U-bend removed? it restricts the flow of the exhaust alot from what I have read. just go buy the o2 spoofer tie strap it to something and your good to go. no need to drill a hole. It cost 50 bucks to get my cat, resonator and u-bend to be removed. I think its another 40-50 for the o2 spoffer too.
