Question sqeeking brakes....

I have a 99 grand am se, and when im stoped and i press the brake down to the floor theres a loud grinding noise coming from my front tires. Then when im driving after a few minutes when i brake slowly there is a really high pitch sqeeking, that don't stop till i let off the brake or slam down on it. Please help.....

Welcome aboard!
If you dig back through the archives of this site you will find a host of threads on the Grand Am brake woes..
I understand 1999 was a "new" design and with it came some noise as you describe. I have a 1999 and the brake shop gave me the thumbs up seal of approval, aside from discount brakepads installed prior.
You are not alone my brakes squeak and grind, with no apparent defects other than design..
