Bolt-On

I have an 85 Monte SS and I was wantin to keep it original, but give it some power...what are some things that are bolt on that would highly increase my horsepower? It has the stock 305, but a different tranny... dad ripped the dang thing out too many times. It's the stock tranny thats been rebuilt and had a shift kit put in it. It's supposed to be the closest thing to a racing tranny you can get. I can still pull about a 6 or 7 sec 0-60 time, but i aint got much on the top end. Whadya think?

You've all seen the "Priceless" credit card commercials, right??? How's this one:

Funeral Costs to your parents: $7k
New Truck for your parents: $23k
Payments to the family you've torn apart: $136k
Killing yourself, a 26 year-old woman, and her 4 year old Daughter from Street Racing: Not worth it...

Funny? Didn't think so... Save racing for the track

Rest in Peace, Brandon: Fly on, Freebird!

Re: Bolt-On

a great hp increaser to the 305 is the exuast if u still have orginal manifolds they are about the most restrictive manifolds the car could have a set of hooker headers part#2050 is prolly about the best u can get along wit a dual cat system with flows will gain u anywhere form 35 to 45 hp.

I found a pair of Flow Tech headers and a High Performance dual header exaust system for it pretty cheap new... The pipes come with turbo style or glass packed mufflers... i can get the headers and system for a total of 260 or so bucks...is that a good deal? and should i choose turbo style or glass pack mufflers?

Re: Bolt-On

260 in my opinion that is def a good deal bc thoe hooker headers and exuaust could run up to 600 as far as the mufflers depends on personal prefrence and i dunno about emissions where u live but i think glasss packs are illegal where i live but thats what ive heard and i do know someone who has them and there truck passed emissions so i gueess i heard wrong lol.

Re: Bolt-On

1Headers are expensive and with your engine it would be some 15/20 hp, i dont thik this is worth it. If your dont have emissions, then get rid of your cat and put a straight pipe + a good big muffler (Flomaster)

2 get a ram air box

3 a comp cam - more hp at top end
