Unhappy DRL's

i just put a set of xeon bulbs into my headlights on my '02 cavi i was wondering if there was a way i could put a switch on my daytime running lights for when i have my blackouts on if it was an automatic i would just use the sensor from the shifter but it's standard if i switch them from the parking brake it rings and the light on the dash stays on if anyone has a wiring harness it would be greatly appreciated if i knew which wire to put the switch to i don't want to just go chop up my wiring harness thanks

There are supposably many ways to rid DRL's. Some I haven't tried yet. The easy solution I did was pull the DRL relay from the fuse box and put in the glove box..

Disadvantage: The service light stays on.

Other ways include cutting off some of the metal clips on the relay.

Disadvantage: DRL light flashes.

The absolute way with no side effects is to mess with wires in the BOM.

Check out this website. http://www.lightsout.org

Very good site on DRL's and there shittyness.

Re: DRL's

I have a 1000w <400w rms> sony amp that takes alot of my battery power so I cant afford to have extra lights on like drl's.
What I do everytime I start the car in the daytime after i put the handbrakes down, I pull the it back up one click. The car thinks its parked so the drl's go off. Your back brakes shoes will not contact with just one click; 60,000m and im only on my second pair of shoes. Although your handbrakes light on the dashboard goes on, the drl dash light goes off.
Its a quick fix I learn in highschool when I was trying to sneek into my girlfriends parents driveway. Everytime I turn my headlights off so it wouldn't hit the house the drl's would kick in, so I had to find a solution. Now she lives with me and everytime I forget to do the "click the handbrakes thing" she does it, makes me laugh. So you can thank her for the quick fix.

That will also work. However the later models it works but a bell chimes the whole time the brake is lifted and car is moving. This happens definitely on 2004 cav's.

I learned my lesson after making a stupid mistake, I will never buy a GM car until those DRL's are taken off or an option to disable them.

I found this..

Try this for the '02 DRL disable. Don't know if it will work on the newer ones or not, and to cold outside to find out myself I HATE WINTER!!!!
