what if I accidently pressed the gas instead of the brake pedal....

and revved up my car to 8000 RPM in park right after i turned it on? i just got it a week ago and it happened today, and the next time i drove it, when I turned it on, it died after 5 seconds. HELP!

i doubt you broke anything, but it is possible. if you think there is a problem with your car, which it could be a lot of different things, then you need to find out exactly what it is so people here (or other dsm forums) can help you, or take it to a mechanic.

how long was it at 8k rpm? have you tried to repeat the problem? does it not want to idle now, or did it happen just once? you also might want to check your vaccuum lines, you may have blown one off... you got a 3g, this forum is really dedicated to 1g and 2g dsm's so keep that in mind...
