6x9 install to hatch
just got done installing my new 6x9s into my cargo cover of my hatch.
here is how i did it: 1. got a thin peice of wood that would cover the size of the "dip" in the cargo cover then i drew the pattern of the speakers in to the wood and cut out each hole. 2. then i screwed it on to the top of the cargo cover and stuck in the speakers to see how big of holes i would have to cut in the bottom of the CC. then i took the wood back off and cut holes big enough for the bottom of the 6x9s to come out. 3. then i covered the wood with some fabric i got to kinda match up with the cover. then cut the holes where the speakers will go. and i used the speaker adheasive spray for the crapet and the fabric stuck on 4. then remounted the fabric covered wood and then mounted the speakers and wired them up. i will get some pics as soon as i can, i dont have a digicam so i dont know how long it will be, but they sound great!

i had 4 6x9s in my old hatch mounted on the dip part from underneath, wasnt that hard, took like 30 min and i covered it with cloth,
it sounded ok, it doesnt sound right cause the sound is bouncing off the roof and doesnt really reach the front of the car, recline your seat all the way back an u wil hear the difference, the hatch i have now i just put a set of Diamond Audio 6.5 components in and they sound way better than all those 6x9s |

they barley fit, i used the speaker grill ring(without the grill) to space the speaker away from the window stuff in the door, then i had to cut out the backing of that black speaker cover (in the door), the tweeter is about an inch from door handle/lock toward the front, the X overs are under the front seats,
sounds like alot but it isnt. those components sound better than the X9's, well the pioneer 940 and the zapco amps help alot too

But the riser I made doesn't sit flush with the speaker cover. It's actually about 1/2 an inch wider which makes it look better imo. Here's a pic: I also made a filler piece that goes in the gap between the riser and lowered part of the parcel tray. It looks and sounds really great
