Unhappy Dead Speed sensor and Odometer

I recently did some work on the transmission of my 97 Neon. It was leaking fluid. Anyway that was fixed but ever since, the speedometer and odometer do not work. I replaced the speed sensor, but no luck. I checked the voltage at the plugs for the cluster and there is current. I also put in a working cluster from a friends car and still nothing. Any ideas? By the way its a standard transmission, SOHC.

Re: Dead Speed sensor and Odometer

If the sensor was replaced and there is no sign of damage to it or the wiring, then the next issue would be to get teh gauge cluster checked. I've heard of people having problems with their clusters in 1st gen Neons.
