Squeeking shock on '92 525i

Recently, my right rear shock developed a squeeking noise. The shock shows no sign of leaking fluid. The car still handles fine and does not bounce. I've checked to ensure the shock mounts are tight. Does the shock need to be replaced or is there another reason for the squeeking?

Smile Problem solved

I didn't receive any recommendations from the Forum, so I decided to go ahead and purchase two new rear shocks and all the associated hardward. Upon removing the old, upper shock mounts, I discovered that both were deformed and off-center. My squeeking noise was coming from the rubber inside the upper mounts. After installing the new shocks and hardward, my Bimmer cruises down the road quietly again.
