Question stereo installation in 98 chevy pick up.

Just wondering how difficult it is install a cd player in place of my factory installed cassette player. How do I remove the trim on the dash. Any info will help. Is it a big job?

Re: stereo installation in 98 chevy pick up.

1st you'll need a mounting kit, wiring harness adapter, and an antenna adapter, you have to remove the front of the dash to get to the radio. Pull on it around the edges and it will unsnap, you have to put your steering wheel as far down as it will go and put your shifter in 1st gear so you can get the dash face off after you unhook the wires on the back of the headlight switch and what other switches you have.after this you have access to the radio, it has a clip on each side that you press down and the unit slides out.All together it's about a 15-30 minute job.
