Time for some fun... sr20det for my 87' NX

I'm looking for information on dropping a SR20DET into my 87' Pulsar (unless the budget says that’s too expensive). My current tranni started to take a crap, so instead of fixing it I went out and bought a sport bike, and now I’m ready to fix the pulsar. Spring is coming up soon and 1/2 the females are too afraid to get on the back of my GT647.

Anyway... I need all the information possible. And if needed I’ll pay for it.

1st thing I need is what motor & transmission model# I need> that will "bolt in"-for the most part.

2nd thing I need is a full parts list. I want to have everything when I get started. Not running around town looking for that special part @ junkyards. (Any special order tools?) Including parts that will be modified to fit.

3rd thing would be a back-up plan... if I get stumped or get pist off I need a name of a mechanic or shop that can just finish this if I drag the car down to them.


Going to try to finish the project in a 3 day weekend (not counting the painting of the motor bay and detailing). And, of course, misc tuning here and there on the weekends.

finally I need to keep costs @ about 3k can't go too much above that, find myself getting expensive on this project (like 5k) ... I’ll be filling the cylinders w/ gunpowder and making a big firecracker
