How long do you spend washing/detailing your car?

I usually spend 4 hours on each car washing, cleaning, detailing inside out. Start with rims, about 15 mins on each. Then soap body, rinse, scrub, soap, rinse, air dry, towel dry, wax, clear coat, tire shine, wheel shine, clean windows in and out, vacuum, clean dash, inspect. My parents and friends think I'm nuts, but always ask me to wash their cars

A Run over with some Wash & Wax- polish when required, vaccum, chammy, rims, chrome polish, clean interior, leather condition- takes me about 1.5-2 hours

It takes too much time if I'm doing a good detail job. But just a wash, probably around an hour and half to two hours.

hour for a regular exterior-only hose down.

MUCH longer for an entire-car in-and-out crevace cleaning.

Re: How long do you spend washing/detailing your car?

Wow, I thought 15 minutes of washing was long. Mantis3024, you must REALLY like your car. I just wash my car at the nearby car-wash. Cleaning my BBS wheels takes less than 5 seconds...high pressured hose smacks the brake dust off.

BTW, I tried that 'Wax-As-You-Dry' stuff and it did'nt help, altough my brother said it worked great on his car, anybody else have expierience with this stuff???

Re: How long do you spend washing/detailing your car?

About only half an hour/40 minutes, unless I clean the inside too.

I detail cars for a living, takes 2 hours for a full detail on my car. Although, I get to clean my car everyday pretty much, so it never needs a full detail.

You listen to music while you wash too?

about 1 1/2 - 2 hours...depends how the weather is, what kind of mood I'm in, and how dirty the car is...

i usually blast jams from a boom box in the garage while i wash too, usually old school hip hop or anything with a good beat, keeps the polka loving idiots across the street on their toes

I usually spend about 3 hours. It's supposed to hit 61 here sunday, so I think I'm going to get a good wash and wax done then.
