I found out why my radio, dome lights, chime, power door lock, power mirrors and "body computer" all failed at once.

I bought the $80 factory service manual for my 95 caravan. This is a very poorly written book with lots of errors and omissions in it.

Now I will give the world the benifit of my expenses and ten hours of reading the crappy book.

All these failures were traced to the 50 pin Bulkhead connector, linking the dashboard wiring harness to the engine compartment.

The PINK 20 gauge wire going to PIN #31 of the bulkhead connector, carries an always live battery voltage, via a 15 amp fuse in the power distribution box to a spice inside the dashboard that powers all these items.

The problem was the #31 male/female connector failed, allowing only 3 volts of the 12 volts to pass.

The cure was to cut the pink wire off the connector (both sides) and solder a 18 guage splice wire to both of these. This then bypasses the burned out connector. I sqeezed the spice wire through the rubber gromet that the parking brake cable goes through.

Everything work great now!! You will want to print this out and save it in your glove box. This info should save you many hundreds of dollars, should you have the same problem.

I have the same problem on a 96 van. In my case the blower won't run and the van won't start unless I reach back behind the body control module (behind the junction box) and move the big wire which moves the connector.
