Go buy a new fender for $40, have it sprayed for $40 and put it on yourself. $80>$1,500

yeah I'd go with what kicker said. It sounds like that's all that's wrong...just the fender. If so just pick one up and paint it or have it painted and bolt it on and you should be fine. Where are you from?

Also, on a side note....anyone smell something wrong here....first post....he say's "someone just hit my front fender on the left..there is a hole on the fender also the signal light is gone." So he say's he's hit on the left.....then 6 posts down....he says....."he backed his car up and hit the right corner of my front bumper..and the bumper is fucked also the fenders..but i see there is a hole." Okay, so which is it, first he says he was hit when the guy backed into him on the leftside, the he say's the guy backed into him on the right side....which is it, left or right. That's not something you screw up normally....just seems kind of fishy to me, once you read all his other threads that make no sense, you'll understand.. Do a search and you'll understand, the aem vs intercooler thread in the jdm forum is a good example... |

Buddy, is it the right side or left? And if he just backed into you, then your front bumper should be fine... assuming that its an oem bumper. It might need a paint job, but thats it. Take a picture of your car... I'll do a visual quote for you on the damages... to see if the body shops are ripping you off. And also, if its a hit and run, all you pay is your deductable... which usually is $500 and your insurance pays the rest. As a "hit and run", you dont get points for that so your insurance doesnt go up. Pay your deductable and let your insurance company pay for it. I dont know if it differs outside of California, but here, you would have up to 1 month to report it to your insurance agency.

Re: front left fender
ops sorry to mess it up with ya all..but the thing is that on the left..on the driver side..and i went to the body shop..and I got an estimation of $ 1500 ..but the guy ran away after he hit my car..but some of the boyz were walking on the street and saw it..they gave me the liscence plz # and i reported to the cop already..but the refused to pay me the $$ ..my car is still sitting in myfront of my house..can't even fix and I let him celebrating his Xmas also new year..so should i come and solve the probelm with him personally? or i'll let the cop handle it>> the thing is that..if i solve with him personally then i should get around $ 1000 if he will to pay..then i fix the fender by my own..for around $200 then i'll get the bumper and shit..I dont know if he is willing to pay me $ 1000 instead of dealing i with the cops..But i got witness..he is around 40 -50 olds..so what you guys think? what should i do>???
Sorry to make you guys confuse..but the damage is on the driver side and the front bumper.. If he willing to deal with me personally..and that would be great cause ..I need the $ and i dont need my car to paint yet...I wait untill the car gets fixed..and there's lots of rust on the body..so what is your suggestion guys??plz help..thanks |

You pay for your insurance, let them take care of it. You pay your taxes, or at least your parents do, so you pay for the police to protect and take care of you. You pay all these people so you have less burden, so put your money to use, and let them do their jobs. Report it to your insurance agency, tell them what happend and let them take care of the rest. If they need you to do anything extra as far as communicating with the police, they will go through it with you step by step. Worse case scenario (which I actually would recommend you doing) is let the guy go and claim it as a "hit and run". If you try to pin it on him, you'll have to go to court and try to pin it on him. You'll have to fight and his lawer will claim that you cant prove it was him since you didnt see the license plate number, and they'll most likely dis-credit your eye witness too... thats usually what happens unless you have a super solid story and so does your witness.. which I doubt. After the whole ordeal, you'll lose money and time trying to win your case, in which you were only fighting for $500 which was your deductable. Its more pain then its worth. Claim "hit and run" and pay $500 deductable. You'll get a new paint job and a new bumper of your choice. Play your cards right and you can get even more aftermarket parts.
