yeah I'd go with what kicker said. It sounds like that's all that's wrong...just the fender. If so just pick one up and paint it or have it painted and bolt it on and you should be fine. Where are you from?

$1,500 huh? hmmm.... or you can go to a real body shop and have it done for around $200-250. I used to work at a body shop, and the price I just stated are good, pretty compentative... but $1,500 is insane! That amount of money would be almost equivelant to a full front end collision!..... front bumper, bumper reinforcement bar, radiator support, two fenders, paint AND labor!

Well, he just said his bumper got mashed also, and the corner lamp and side signal marker...plus a hole somewhere he says....plus the fender that is mashed in...that's probably a new fender ( mashed in plus hole), new bumper (I am assuming it's more than a few minor scratches by his post, R & I, prep, paint, blending, new corner light, side light...that sounds a little more reasonable. He failed to mention the rest of this was also wrong in his first post....plus, wouldn't the other guy's insurence pay for the damage. That shouldn't be a problem.

Also, on a side note....anyone smell something wrong here....first post....he say's "someone just hit my front fender on the left..there is a hole on the fender also the signal light is gone."

So he say's he's hit on the left.....then 6 posts down....he says....."he backed his car up and hit the right corner of my front bumper..and the bumper is fucked also the fenders..but i see there is a hole."

Okay, so which is it, first he says he was hit when the guy backed into him on the leftside, the he say's the guy backed into him on the right side....which is it, left or right. That's not something you screw up normally....just seems kind of fishy to me, once you read all his other threads that make no sense, you'll understand.. Do a search and you'll understand, the aem vs intercooler thread in the jdm forum is a good example...

Believe it or not... I've seen some people that still cant get their "rights" and their "lefts" together. Maybe hes one of them lol.

Buddy, is it the right side or left? And if he just backed into you, then your front bumper should be fine... assuming that its an oem bumper. It might need a paint job, but thats it. Take a picture of your car... I'll do a visual quote for you on the damages... to see if the body shops are ripping you off.

And also, if its a hit and run, all you pay is your deductable... which usually is $500 and your insurance pays the rest. As a "hit and run", you dont get points for that so your insurance doesnt go up. Pay your deductable and let your insurance company pay for it. I dont know if it differs outside of California, but here, you would have up to 1 month to report it to your insurance agency.

Okay man, if you're for real, then let the police and the insurance handle it. You'll get money in the end from his insurance after the police sort things out..or your insurance will take care of it as a "hit and run." The rust on the body is seperate from the accident, so fixing that will not be covered by a settlement most likely. "Solving the problem with him perosnally" is a bad idea for you.

Agreed.

You pay for your insurance, let them take care of it. You pay your taxes, or at least your parents do, so you pay for the police to protect and take care of you. You pay all these people so you have less burden, so put your money to use, and let them do their jobs. Report it to your insurance agency, tell them what happend and let them take care of the rest. If they need you to do anything extra as far as communicating with the police, they will go through it with you step by step. Worse case scenario (which I actually would recommend you doing) is let the guy go and claim it as a "hit and run". If you try to pin it on him, you'll have to go to court and try to pin it on him. You'll have to fight and his lawer will claim that you cant prove it was him since you didnt see the license plate number, and they'll most likely dis-credit your eye witness too... thats usually what happens unless you have a super solid story and so does your witness.. which I doubt. After the whole ordeal, you'll lose money and time trying to win your case, in which you were only fighting for $500 which was your deductable. Its more pain then its worth. Claim "hit and run" and pay $500 deductable. You'll get a new paint job and a new bumper of your choice. Play your cards right and you can get even more aftermarket parts.

Well stated. Your absolutly correct. You pay for all this, so let them put put your money to good use and let them do their jobs. On a side note, about "Play your cards right and you can get even more aftermarket parts." That's true. I was talking to a state farm service first inspector a few weeks ago. He was telling me that, for example, when there is a front end collision, it is actually cheaper for them in many case to replace the whole intake assembly with an aftermarket one like an AEM CAI, than it is to replace the damaged stock airbox and plastic tubing with a new stock airbox and plastic tubing.
