i am looking to buy an s14 240sx but almost all of them that i can find are with automatic trannies.
now the question is this: i am planning on replacing the ka24de motor with either an sr20det or an rb25det. does it really matter whether the car comes with an automatic if i am going to drop the new engine/tranny anyways? god damn i hate automatics!!!

Re: tranny question
Dude, I just got a 95 240sx, if you are planning on swapping out the engine//tranny combo, get what you can take, its not that hard to swap over, just need some parts, not too much fabrication to do. You need everything that goes with the manual tranny....master cylinder, slave cylinder, shift linkage, i think tranny mount and maybe the driveshaft. There might be a couple things, but if you can't find a manual, you can still swap it out. I believe Sport Compact Car had a little paragraph over what all you need in one of their buyers guide, could have been Super Street, can't remember.
but I agree with you....AUTOS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!
