Smile Windstar 3.8L Rough Idling

Hello Folks,

A little heads up on the rough idle trouble.. I had this problem for the past little while and found out that Ford uses a plastic bushing located on the right side of and just past the power steering resevoir and in between the valve covers. when the engine is started the bushing and its connected parts come forward and opens up. ( something to do with the exaust).

I have the part # from a Canadian Ford dealer.. F5RZ*9F955*AB (BUSHING)..The part here cost $8.75 for this little plastic bushing (buy 2 and replace both) . since replacing the parts the rough idle has decreased 1000% ..... Have someone start the van while you are checking for this bushing... HOPE THIS CAN HELP AND SAVE SOMEONE A TON OF MONEY CHANGED BY YOYR LOCAL FORD DEALER....

Maurice,
