S14 conversion

so my friend is thinking about getting an S14 conversion for his 98 integra Ls. i have no experience with conversions and i have heard mixed reviews about them. i think the conversion he is looking at is gonna cost him 2 grand shipped + paint and installation. i dont think that he should do it. what is your opinion??

Re: S14 conversion

Dont do it. Tell him to look into the JDM Type R conversion for integras...its about the same price, and looks a shitload better, and will get you a lot mor respect.

If he can't decide he can always do one of each Well I think either set would look good. Here's one of the nicest integras I've seen and it has the S14 headlight conversion

I wont deny it.. its an amazing looking car! I just think it would just sit better in my head seeing a JDM ITR front end, with that same hood and same skyline style front bumper. Someone might say "what, are you trying to fool people... pretending it to be something that its not?" But I'm sure that not what anyone things when they do a mod like this.

Wow... That was one cool car..
Here in Europe this would make a hell of chaos!

Nice and different conversion!

Really IMO, he's in a win win situation. I mean as long as the body work is done well, his car will probably look great with either set of lights. That integra is just a personal favorite. Of course there's always gonna be haters, and I think someone said you might...or he might...not get as much respect which is probably true since most of us probably view an S14 as a Japanese monster car...and to put the lights on a wimpy integra...that's not my opinion, but just what some people might think.
Not sure if it says in your profile, but where are you and your friend from? I'm just wondering if you're some place where they have a lot of good body shops like SoCal.

Ok that teg is sick flat out. but i'll agree with everyone esle go JDM ITR. I think as for as conversions (99%) suck bad that one is good though but I do think you shouldn't mix brands Honda Nissan like that but either way when its done get some pics!

Re: Re: Re: S14 conversion

If the hood on that car actually lined up it would be tits.. My g/f's cousin has a jdm itr front end, and I can't keep my eyes off it when he comes over. My opinion is to keep the teg a teg, and do the jdm swap instead of a Nissan facelift. Nobody really has either of them (around here anyways..), and like said above if I saw that thing in person I'd think they're some kind of poser rather than keeping it respectably "in-house". That's just my pennies though, as other people don't really care as long as it looks good. That's cool too, and it's not my car.. but I just think those headlights look better on a longer, flatter car like the 240/s14

I was wondering the same thing, but unlike you, I would have been picking on her/him. FRRRRREEEEEAAAAAKKKKKK!! J/K buddy

I wonder if Oblivian has even checked this post. Like I said, if his buddy has the money to spend and he takes it to a good shop, I'm sure his car will look GREAT when it's done whether he go with ITR or S14...

You will get that with any conversion you do. When people put a 6th gen front end onto a 5th gen civic people say the stupidest thing ever "why don't you just buy a 6th gen civic?"
I feel like kicking them in the head.

Or if you do a BMW conversion on your civic and people ask...in a haterish way...if that's a word why don't you just buy a BMW...well for 1) I can't afford a BMW and 2)I don't want a BMW...ok, that's a flat out lie...they are nice, but I'm happy with my civic...actually that's a lie too because it looks like shit right now, but really the point is making your car a little bit different than most of the others out there.
I mean, I'm certainly not the first to do the BMW conversion, but there's a lot less cars out there with BMW headlights than there are projectors. (talking about any projector made for civics)
And I realize Silverbolt was only saying this is what other people might say...the part about fooling people, and that's not what it's about at all. I seriously doubt that guy set out to fool anyone into thinking his car was an S14 and not an integra. And I doubt if someone walked up to him and said "oh shhh is that an S14...WTF...blah blah blah"...I doubt the guy would actually start saying his car was a Silvia.

Ok anyway, enough from me already but I just wanted to add on to what kicker said.

Re: S14 conversion

tell your friend to go with the JDM teg kit. It looks sweet and it won't make him look like a hypocrite. oh here are some definitions for you:
1)bugger:to forget about it.
2)whack:to throw some on.
It's called British slang
I'm American and I know that.
