97 Blazer 4WD - 2WD indicator

The 2wd indicator on the electric shift no longer lights up, the 4wd light does and it goes out when I press the 2wd. I hear the transfer case shifting either way. How can I tell for sure that I'm not driving around in 4WD? Maybe it's just the bulb?

Thanks in advance.

If you can hear it shifting, chances are it is. Try replacing the bulb and see what happens. I dont know what else it could be.

The drive shaft going from the transfer case to the front axle always turns, even in 2WD, Is it supposed to?

I am having a similar problem - I have no power to my switch, and I cannot hear it shifting - any ideas? Mine is a 2002.

It probably is your bulb, same thing happened to me.
