Red face 1979 240d

This morning my car was started for me as I was getting ready to go to work. All of a sudden, I heard this car reving it's engine/ I kept thinking "get your foot off of it stupid." Then I realized it was faith, my 79 240. She was running away. Someone needs to explain why she did this, and calm my heart and tell me that I didn't do any dammage. I found myself running out of the house screaming NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!! All I could envision was her blowing up!
HHHHHEEEEELLLLPPPPPP. This is where the teaching comes in folks!!!! I hope your up for it, and patient enough.
Thanks bunches ahead of time for any responses I get.
Enjoy the holiday season everyone. God Bless!
Cathy

Talking Start it yourself....

Your car was running at high speed by itself or the person who started the car for you was flooring the pedal? If the latter, don’t let that person start your car for you again! The injector pump will shut off before any damage is done but the engines have been known to run away and throw a rod. Make sure the throttle linkage is not sticking.
