96 Gt

The time has come for me to finally get a mustang. Well in 8 days at least. I called the insurance company today and found out that there would be no difference in insurance between a V6 and a GT. My question is this, do you think I should get a 99+ V6 or a 96 GT. I would think most of you right off the bat would say get the GT. I'm just wondering because the 99+ V6 has 190 horsepower, 225 torque and the 96 GT has 215 horsepower and 285 torque. 35 horsepower is quite a bit but not a whole bunch. Is the aftermarket for the 96 GT quite a bit bigger than it would be for the 99+ V6? The exhaust system on a 96 GT is that an h-pipe? Also if you would suggest me to get the GT I would like to mod the exhaust to get even a better tone what would be your suggestion for me to do?

Re: 96 Gt

Get a GT hands down. You won't regret it, but you might regret a V6. 35 HP and 60 Ft.Lb's torque is expensive to make up for, especially with a V6. And I bet you'll find yourself wanting to make up for it.
