Useless Weapon???

I don't know much about the rest of you on here, but over the past few years, i've steadily "moved up through the ranks", as it were, in my area. I went from being the noob all the way up to knowing 80% of the people out here involved in the scene, and having one of the fastest cars as well. For those of you who haven't experienced it yet, this may be hard to grasp, but do those of you with truly quick cars feel pretty much useless now??? In a lot of ways, i feel that my car is a useless weapon. I stumble across a worthwile race maybe once every two weeks. Of those, i win probably two-thirds of them. I'm a street racer, i want to race! Does anyone else on here feel the same way? I mean, i figured building a fast car would find me more races but it's quite the opposite. I used to just roam the streets and highways at night looking for a race. it is a drug for me in many ways. i guess there is a silver lining, though. as a result i don't race as much anymore, which keeps everyone a little safer. opinions???

just get involved in scca races like solo1 or autox...they are legal, you get to meet some very good drivers and they push your skill to the limit much more so than lining up at a light

that's true, i'm doing a few track days soon. one of my good friends instructs for the Driver's Edge school. the problem is that the highway or the industrial park is the place i enjoy it most...

I am obssessed with squezzing every ounce I have to get a faster ET, which is why I am proud to me in the top 10 of MR2 1/4 miles and shwoing the least amount of HP of the big boys.

Look at my HP compared to the others ... that is my new drug.

I completely understand the drug of street racing, but I am cured.
It is not worth it in my mind (look at the street racing page on my site).
I am responsible enough now to know that what I have built is too dangerous to race on the street.

I don't get involved in many races at all. I will rarely race anything that doesn't stand a chance of beating me. Its not fun to win something that you should win.

I agree...there is nothing like beating a car faster than yours...you know you won through skill

True but I also take pride in the fact the I very very carefuly picked the parts and carefully assembled and install everything on my car to make it as fast as it is.

and i agree and that is another thing to be proud but i say skills are even more important...a good car is just something to complement them

I prefer to know that my car is the fastest one out there. And while my skill is an important factor, it's my 200hp advantage that makes the biggest difference in the outcome of the race

I find it much more satisfying beating a car that has 100 - 200 HP more than me.

There is nothing impressive about beating up a little kid in my book.
Taking on a bully's father, now that is something to brag about.

I get all types of people trying to race me.. must be the 4 cylinder image and fiero. Some moron with a 35-40th anniversery camaro said he saw some fake fiero with formula decals and fake dual exhaust.

Little does he know the fiero came with V6's and mines not normal, he wants to race next spring he's going to shit bricks racing an 11 second lowly pontiac

I used to be the same way when I had my Chevelle, and the sickness only grew...I've been having withdraws now that I don't have anything to race with though, track or otherwise
