dropping integra with 17's

I have a 96 ls with 17' ADR GT sport rims, that are offset 40mm. How far of a drop can I safely do without any rub. Would 1.5' work even tho I have 40mm offset, and not a 42-45mm. Also the drop needs to be able to work with stock 14' weels and tires, because for the winter I put on studs so I can get up to the ski hill on the weekends and do some boarding. My car just looks kinda tarded with 17's and no drop. how low can I go?

I wouldn't do more than an inch... MAYBE one and a half, but if you're going to be going up to the mountain, you don't want to be plowing the snow with your front bumper.

Re: dropping integra with 17's

If you use the correct plus sizing, rubbing should NOT be an issue with a 1.5" drop.

thanks for the imput so far. I won't be doing the drop till after winter because we already have 2 foot in on the ground, and that is in town. this will also be my last winter here, so it won't be much of a problem. However in the future I will go up to the hill sometimes, but not alot. What are these adjustable suspensions that were mentioned above? Can you adjust them easily, and how much more would it cost to do something like that. I would like to go 1.5' drop in the summer (if my setup can do that without rubbing) but durring the winter it would be nice to raise it back up. Can you do that with adjustbale suspension set ups?

Also I got my rims and kumho tires mounted and balanced, and shipped to me for $670 brand new. They are hyper silver. les schuab wanted to charge me $850 for just the rims. never go to les. they rip you off.

Re: dropping integra with 17's

True coilovers or coilover sleeves will allow ride height adjustment. Is it easy? Some what - getting all 4 corners right may take some time. A good set of normal springs/shocks will cost about $600 or you could go with the Tein basic (true)coilovers for $700 or so.

Buy a 4wd/Awd truck if your worried about the snow!

If you don't know the difference between sleeves & true coilovers . . . . sleeves are springs with an adjustable collar that mounts to any shock/strut. True coilovers are shocks/spring combos designed by the same companay with the threaded collar built INTO the shock. True is a much better choice than sleeves.
