Looking at WRX Wagon, but I'm 6'4"
Hi all,
After having a few friends tell me I needed to check it out, I've fallen in love with the WRX wagon. I still can't believe how well it handles or how fast it is, especially for the money. The only problem I have is that I'm a big guy, 6'4", and nox exactly as skinny as I was, either, and the cockpit of the wagon is a bit tight for me. If I could get a few more inches of length in the seat I think I'd be just fine. The headroom is more than adequate, already. So, if I want one, my only option seems to be to mod it out a bit. I was wondering if anyone else has had the same issues and what you did about it. The leg bolsters are a bit too narrow for me, so I'm thinking that new seats, mounted further back, might do the trick. Most of the other wagons I've checked out just don't compare, so I'm really hoping to find a way to make this work, but I'm not going to buy one until I know I can be comfortable in it. I've never gotten into any modding before and any advice or suggestions on seat makes, feasbility of my idea, or whatever, would be most appreciated. Thanks! -Jason |

Try the seats in the Legacy, then check if they will fit the Impreza, there's a good chance they will.

Re: Looking at WRX Wagon, but I'm 6'4"
I'm 6'3" and I fit with room to spare. Unless you're substantially wider than me (i.e. leg bolsters as you mentioned) you should be fine... But I won't doubt your judgment having sat in the car.
Come to think of it, this post has no purpose. |

Thanks all!
I'll look into the Legacy seats...good idea. MB38, it just goes to show that I feel like I'm pretty close, and I'm glad to hear that you're set in there at 6'3". If I can get the existing seats back a bit, maybe I'll fit in them better, and won't have to worry about new seats. If I felt like I had to shoehorn myself in there, I'd have to write the WRX off from the start. ![]() I feel like it might not be *too* bad, but I want to be sure I can be comfortable long term and for long trips. F23A4Racer750IL, could you elaborate on what you're going to do, please? Do you have a link to the seats you're getting? Are you planning on moving them back, too, and have you found out how do-able that is? Hey, side question. I'll have to hunt though the posts again, but istr seeing something that basically said it's not worth getting most of the options...that you can get them cheaper and better aftermarket. Is this true, and which options would you recommend to get, assuming I want to end up with a "loaded" car at the end, whether it's stock ar aftermarket? Many thanks!
