I was wondering what some of you guys think a good budget tuner car would be if i was trying to use the least amount of money but still have a fast car until i turn 18 and can get a better job.
I was thinking something like an older honda or nissan and maybe searching around and doin a swap maybe I dunno, but once i got my hands on some moeny i was thinking about doin an RB26DETT into a 240sx for a good car what you guys think? |

Re: A budget tuner
There are many bugdet go-fast american cars. But by tuner I assume you mean an import. It is going to depend on how good your mechanic skills are. If you are skilled, a civic hatch b18 hybrid junkyard turbo will get you going on a budget. How fast are you looking for though? I wouldn't call any 14 second or higher car fast.

There's no doubt in my mind that the best budget car out there is the early DSM's. Find an Eclipse GSX or Talon TSi AWD for about 3000-3500 and put another grand into it and you'll have a legitimate fast car. There's no other modern "tuner" car that you can get as much power for as little money as a DSM.
