How hard is to change the oil pan gasket? Any instructions or advice??

You just undo the bolts, and it will come out, but take off the oil filter, and it will easily slide out. You gotta change the oil anyway, so you might as well change the filter too. I like to change the filter on every change.

Besides replacing the gasket, do I need to use a Silicon sealant?

GM has had some problems with the oil pan leaking. The latest and greatest info from GM was to replace the gasket add sealer between the pan and gasket and use a teflon sealer on the bolts.
