my system advise

ok well i dont have a full price list as im still waiting for replies from a couple of these companys but this is what im thinking and could use some help deciding on a few parts.

main amp: McIntosh MC420MB (50x4 RMS)

sub amp: McIntosh MCC302 (600W RMS)

sub: RE XXX 12"

door speekers: undecided but these are my top choices

Cerwin-Vega HED1602 6.5" 100W 2-way Component
Eclipse SC8362 6.5" component
Infinity KAPPA 60.5CS 6 1/2" 2-Way Component
MB Quart DSE216 6.5" 2-Way component

rear speekers: undecided but these are my top 3 choices

Eclipse SE-8392 6" x 9" 3-Way
MB Quart DTC 169 6" x 9" 3-Way
Cerwin-Vega HED-1693 6" x 9" 3-Way

deck: Alpine CDA-9807 (cd/mp3)

equiliser: Pioneer DEQ-7600 (15 band digital)

ok now i got to thinking do i realy NEED an equiliser? the deck sounds like it has pretty good tuning capabilitys as is

it all sounds like good stuff to me ........ but I would ditch the rear speakers, use the 4 channels to amp the tweeters and mids seperately. You may find an EQ necessary because the cars interior is such a harsh place.

Re: my system advise

You need a lot more power for that sub, ATLEAST twice as much, they like 1500rms or so.
Ditch the rears, bridge the amp so you have more than 50rms going to your fronts.
Stay away from Infinity components, especially the kappa series. I would add the DEI Vipers, Focal Polyglass, and CDT Classics to your lineup as well, they will all perform atleast as well as the ones you're looking at now if not better.
That EQ has .5V preouts so you'll almost definately need a line driver if you plan on going with it. Instead I would just get a higher model Alpine with more tuning features and forget about an EQ all together.

Re: my system advise

I would ditch the RE sub and pick up either a JL W7, an e15, or a brahma 15 with that amp. I also like the idea of seperate amplification on the front speakers using the 4 channel amp

Re: my system advise

Since CDT classics are speakers, I would say he was recommending the speakers

it might be a few months ......... but quality products stand the test of time. I can remember when EVERYONE wanted audiobahn subs - they seem to be kind of second tier (played out) now.

Re: my system advise

you can trust CDT. been running their stuff for a while now and have no complaints whatsoever.

everything seems fine, but i hope you have a box big enough for that 600 watts RMS.
