Question 2000 silv manual trans probs?

I have a standard cab, short wheelbase 4x4 4.8 leter manual trans 5 speed. Have any of the GM techs on this forum become aware of premature failure in this trans. I'm at 48,900 and it sounds like its worn out lots of whine i would think for a young trans.
Also shifting between 2-3 has always brought a little resistance especially if i dont get the clutch all the way to the floor. any comments would be apreciated. jack

Trans

I have a 2000 with the 4.3 and manual trans, with similar problems, hard to shift, have to push the clutch all the way to the floor, when I asked the service managers they say they have never seen one and do not know how it should shift. My tranny has always been noisy(50K now), and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse. Sorry not much help.
