Cool Crazy Tint

Is anyone familiar with the tint laws in Mass? I just bought my 95’ Aurora in RI and already it’s been dubbed the pimp mobile for the super black tint. The dealer I bought it from has his cars professionally tinted to sell as undercover cars. I believe he said he had them tinted 5% on all the windows except the windshield, and the windshield has a 35% on top of the factory tint. So as you can imagine there is no seeing through these windows. I actually have to put them down at night when I am backing up so I don’t hit something. I know I’ll have to strip the windshield since any tint other then factory, is super illegal, but I am wondering if I can get away with leaving the rest of the tint. I’m sure it’s doubtful but it was worth running by my friends on the Aurora board. The car really looks awesome with that jet-black tint against the White exterior and with it all black on the inside it’s like a little livery car. Oh well….I just have a car that’s a cops dream to pull over.

35% is the darkest you can legally go in MA. Below is a link to the other state tint laws.

Re: Crazy Tint

Regardless of the laws, you need to decide on a balance of good looks and your own safety. You need to be able to see out at night, especially if you add a little fog. In direct sunlight the medium tints look almost as dark, but would be much safer.

Well I've now gone well over the allotted time to get the car inspected and spent most of the morning driving around to the most run down little joints and still they won’t pass me! They won’t even let me in the bay lol…they walk out with the tint tester and laugh…sad… the windows tested out at 4%. One guy even said you can’t get the windows darker…. I bet I could lol…I’m still holding off on removing the tint…

Re: Crazy Tint

I think these cars are so eye catching anyway, that with the dark tint people can't help but just stare at the car... I love it.. :o)
