need for speed underground

Alright, I know there is a gaming section, but this is to the folk that aren't into video games or don't know the new games. I stumbled upon a NFSU demo the other day and i got addicted to it. So naturally, i tried downloading it, but it kept messing up and the game is too new to have a lot of ppl with it to download. Anyways, i bought the game today and this is what I think:

this game is AWESOME. Been playing it for an hour or two. Well, as we all know and hate fast and furious b/c of the "fake cars/performance" the actual scenes were pretty cool. This game is much in a fast and furious style. There are street races and drag racing and you can customize your car to the rice level you like. There are lots of real brand names in the game: AEM, BBS, Honda, etc. etc.

I suggest anyone who could stand playing a video game w/o their head spinning, download the demo and check it out.

Re: need for speed underground

I was afraid they put too much in the "custom" work of the car and not enough fun in racing

Re: need for speed underground

I'm caught between NFS:U or Project Gotham Racing 2 for xbox. PGR2 has slide or drifting points which I really like, but NFS has my 240sx in it!! STupid how PGR2 didn't include the 240 in it, when it's the ideal drifting car. Anyone who's play both, which is a better game?

Re: need for speed underground

Underground is fun, but its stupid at the same time, because you have to "unlock" parts, so you cant upgrade your car as soon as you can afford it, until you "unlock" that part. It gets aggraviting to keep getting stupid decals when all i want is a faster car.

does project gotham still use Kudos? that's the one thing i hated about that game. and the fact that you're always in the slower car trying to beat the faster one so you can add it to your garage. i really want Gran Turismo 4. not other racer can hold a candle to the GT series

This game is WAAAAY too easy...the only cool thing is when you get to the higher levels you can go back to almost stock looks and still have the 5x Rep multiplier. Took 2 days to beat... Drift mode is a joke. I like the HUD for the drag races, very sleek. The actual circuit and time attack races are fun but it gets a bit frustrating near the end, having to retry just cause you clipped a curb or some stupid s**t like that.

I beat the game with a Miata (GT3 memories). What'd everybody else beat the game with?

Re: need for speed underground

Blah, it screams rice
With nitrous and jumps and all the stuff
Rice factor = A++
Drifting in a FWD Kia with "NOS"? Nah
TXR:3 owns NFS:U
Why? 30 bucks cheaper, and just as fresh (well, on this side of the ocean)
The selection of cars is less rice oriented (removal of Hondas, no Kias)
The gameplay is different, NFS:U is street racing, Tokyo Xtreme Racer: 3 is about highway racing in Japan
the customization is much more complete (not all of the body kits are the same for all of the freakin cars)
And it carries on from the story in TXR:0, with about 600 rivals to race, all with unique cars. The game even gives you your own name, depending on your car, sticker, and driving style (yes stickers, I know, but its team stickers, not APC stickers) They sound pretty cool too :P
They even went to the extent to make 2 profiles about every racer (CPU) in the game, and theyr occupation, and career and everything
It is kinda of impossible to beat, but its still fun The only thing I dont like about TXR:3 is that they tried to cover up the fact that its a street racing game by replacing all of the traffic with a yellow van with their development teams name on it.
TXR:3 > NFS:U in almost every feauture except graphics. But thats all NFS really has going for it...
Lack of saving and replays in NFS:U makes me sad
If you like 2F2F and the latter, go play NFS:U
If you dont, play TXR:3,
If you dont have a PS2 or just dont like playing games, then...yeah
