Trans Am's are great cars! Don't even worry about the handling. The first time you get behind the wheel of one of them, you'll love the feel of it. It takes turns amazingly well. Because of the suspension, you feel a lot of the bumps, but it's worth it. There are very many aftermarket parts available for T/A's but they are somewhat pricey. You can do the few free mods, but after that it can cost you a bit. Exhaust is usually first on most people's lists; that can run around $600 depending on brand. I'd say if you want factory speed and power, Trans Am is definately the way to go. They are very fast stock, and if that is all you need go for it! If you want to make a 10 second car, expect to put in a lot of work/money. It doesn't take very much to turn a T/A from a beast into... well, an even bigger, meaner beast. Good luck!

im also looking to buy a 98-02 t/a
i will only get it if its either a ws6 or a firehawk.
if you want the performance edge, go with the firehawk, 345hp a .90+ skidpad and low 13 to high 12 1/4 mile times.

Definitly get a TA! I just got a 99 and I love it. It has the LS1 and a T56 6 speed. Oh yeah and BTW I have a 95 Civic EX with a GSR swap and about 15k in performance mods in it. Yeah it will run circles around the TA for now in handling but the Honda has over 15k in mods and it isn't as fast as the stock TA. I just spent $250 bucks on some 4:11's for the TA and now the Honduh will NEVER be as fast as the TA. As soon as I put some money in the suspension of the TA there is no going back!$250 or $15,000? Go figure.
