I come from the .org

Hey guys...I just registered....I'm a member from maxima.org but I have been banned or suspended...i don't even know because some of the mods over there are such a-holes that they don't even say anything...

I got banned/suspended for asking why a friend of mine was banned... then some guy starts flaming me and I tell him what I think about him and next day I can't log in. NO warning no e-mail, nothing at all.....

Anyway, I am addicted to the .org but it's becoming a flame war day after day over there. and the mods think they can do whatever they feel like doing......

I have spent some time here today and looked through some of the threads and it seems like you guys maybe don't have as much info as the .org but you sure treat people the way it should be on a forum....

anyway, I just wanted to say what's up and I'll be hanging around here more often now.

Welcome bro, we are glad to have you aboard. The org can ban you whenever they feel but you'll get slammed for real over there if you cuss or slander the wrong person.

Over here it is pretty lenient and you can get away with a little bit more because the mod here is down to earth. If you don't post enough over at the org you're account will be shutdown but you won't get banned.

Flaming over there against certain "Blessed, above the law individuals" can get you kicked to the curb. Be warned though there has been at least one individual that I know of that has gotten banned over here, so it can happen but you have to be doing some major flaming for it to happen.

Anyway, we don't mind if you talk about street racing or bash on other brands but just do it within the context and everyone will be cool with it.

We've had our differences over here as well but overall everyone here is pretty damn cool and no one seems to harbor a grudge for longer than 3 months.

thanks....don't get me wrong though...i don't flame anyone... i'm not the kind....but when I make a comment that makes sense and some dude comes off and says....he's asking about his friend because he's gay and he loves him.....i had to reply to that....and it got me banned...... whatever though......
i just broke a 1000 posts on there the other day too.... one of the mods said it's just a week suspension, but i'm starting to like this place... i just hate not having my private messages because there's many people that i have become real friendly with over there....

Welcome to the forum "maxed"! I'm fairly new to this particular forum myself, and so far so good. It's kinda dead during the day, not that many people posting during work I guess. I keep the window minimized on my desktop and 4-5 hours can pass without any replies or new posts, but otherwise it's ok.
Still haven't checked out the org yet, but have heard alot about it! Both good and bad.

it's funny you mention the butt-holes at the org. there was a thread here talking about how the policies and people here are better but the org is more informational although riddled with assholes(not all of course). i was banned from the org at one point, probably still am. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ghlight=banned.<---That's the thread of when my friend got banned from the org. he eventually got banned over here too and hasnt been seen again since . get a free juno or hotmail email address to register with and go back as a new member, no biggie.

it's just another way for them to put other people down. if you ask a question that's been asked before they know that 1) you're new and/or 2) you're not a donating member, therefore you "don't care about the overall well-being of the forums" and don't deserve the kind of respect the donating, full-time members get. that's why people over there who are "popular" stay popular and gain brownie points with the mods and attain "untouchable" status and the newbies go there get flamed and never come back.

the thing i don't get is, they are so uptight about asking the same Q's more than once, but then the more respected members just fill up the forums with babble and bullshit. so when you do find a thread pertaining to a question that you have, they expect you to sift through pages and pages of bull shit to find the one post that has the information you're looking for.

yeah, me neither. there's no real point in registering cuz you can read all the posts you want without doing so. in most forums the search function is reserved for registered users, but on the org it's for donating members. so unless you want to register just to get flamed for asking a question the only way to avoid getting flamed is to pay for a free public forum and use the search feature. that damn place is ass backwards.

Hi. This is my first post here and I was a fairly regular member over at maxima.org too. I have to admit that I hate the way the mods over there run it. Disabling the search feature was completely asinine as well. The other thing that always bugged me was the treatment you got from the other members if you were not a "donating" member . They act like if they gave $20 they owned the place.

I've been reading the posts here and so far I like what I see a lot better. The search feature actually works and this forum doesn't load up at the speed of wood like the org did. I'll be happy here.
