Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have seen about 10 reports of blown 3.5's now. Search this site, this one: http://forums.delphiforums.com/itog, this one:http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?Cat=&C=15, and here's one more good one: http://www.forum.planetisuzoo.com/

Me Too

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Mine also spun a rod and broke the crank in half. Little or no oil would be the reason, although I checked it regularly. Mine was not under warranty 00 Trooper warranted to 60k mine has 66k. Purchased a used replacement motor with 41k on it; it too was a total loss; fortunately I got my money back on that one. Currently I am looking for yet another motor.

Regards,
Jared

Aha, the very same problem!! My '01 had 45,000 miles, was well under warranty, but Isuzu Canada has denied warranty based on the repair shop (Wilde Isuzu, Waukesha Wisconsin). I had 2 seconds warning, oil light went on, I turned down radio, heard this high speed clicking noise, then NOTHING, dead, and on the expressway, traffic all around!!! They say a plugged EGR valve caused oil to overheat, causing "lack of lubrication" to crank bearing. and these guys, DISPOSED of the engine BEFORE the warranty was applied, I think they assumed I was going to pay the $8600.00 bill for a new motor for a vehicle I have owned for a total of 6200 miles in 3 months, in which I had one oil change, a full engine check over, tranny flush, and an all over look over. Who is really at fault here???? Apparently it is all MY fault for buying this vehicle, and then getting screwed by everyone even related to this SUV. So I am stuck in Wisconsin, no vehicle, still paying a bank loan and insurance, and I cannot even drive it!!!!!! They are holding my vehicle hostage, and will not release until they get their 8600 bucks, which I do NOT have thank you. I understand anyones frustration with this company, but this coverup of the engine, and their failure to comply with THEIR warranty is sickening. I hope you get some help too!!!!
