Ok I would really like to know what you all think is better, tiptronic or manual on an audi 1.8T, or any audi model for that matter.... thanks

the low end...

ok. with the 1.8 A4 realize that the low end torque sucks bigtime. only when 2nd gear kicks in do you really feel the directness of this engine. myself, im a city driver, so standard would be a pain. plus, the tiptronic is the best maunal substitute in comparison to steptronic or touch shift on other makes. gear changes are like butter. but again, with the A4, if your looking to hustle on the low end, manual is the way to go.

a chip would be sweet and would remedy the low end. with maintance issues, id rather keep it under warranty.

...a chip is a must...but what I was talking about specifically is a chip that's specific to the tiptronic tranny that tightens the shifts up..

just keep your old chip and put that one back in when you go to the dealer.

Marked001,
Can you give me more info on the Tip Chip? I have been looking, but can't seem to find prices and much info on it.
Thanks!
