I have a 2000 Honda Civic EX coupe with a just an intake on it. I have Koni Yellow adjustables shocks and Eibach Pro-kit shocks. I don't race the car. It's a daily driver so a nice ride quality/handling balance is important.
My car has a stock front sway bar of 22mm so I'm not removing it for something slightly bigger. I do want to purchase a rear sway bar to help make the handling more neutral. I've narrowed it down to: Comptech adjustable rear sway bar/lower tie combo ($359.10 at Lightning Motorsports) http://www.lightningmotorsports.com/...suspension.htm Suspension Techniques rear sway bar. ($139.26 at Lightning Motorsports) www.lightningmotorsports.com/suspension_techniques.htm What do you guys and girls recommend and why? What mm thickness is the Suspension Techniques bar? Where can I find the best price?

Re: Comptech or Suspension Techniques rear sway bar?
Sounds Like a question for CivicSIRacer adn Jackassi... those two know their shit for sure. Also there are a few other threads about kinda the same thing that I have read. Might want to check them out as well.

Look at the diameter size of each bar and determine which one will suit you better. The harder you push your car's handling, the thicker of a bar you'll want. Id probably go with the Comptec bar though if you have the $$$ for it since it has the integrated lower tiebar with it. That will insure 100% compatability between those 2 pieces. Also if you have or plan on ever getting a cat-back or rear section exhaust system, piping clearance to the bar and endlinks might come into play with certain bars. I know with my ITR rear swaybar I have on my '00 Civic coupe, that clearance is about as close as it can be without causing problems. "2.36 piping along with a 22mm bar = TIGHT tight fit!

Doubletap - Silver here is insulted you didn't mention him.
After reading some more on Honda-tech about ripping out subframes with anything but a comptech, I've decided to go with the comptech. It's a real nice piece that is made just for my car.

Re: Comptech or Suspension Techniques rear sway bar?
The comptech would be better, there is also an ajustable rear sway/rear tie from ST - $350.00
The ST bar is 7/8" about 22.2mm Like SilverY2K, the exhaust may be an issue. Bend the exhaust, rear sway is more important. |

I like scraping the paint off my exhaust piping with the top of the right side endlink to my swaybar (seen below). ![]()
