Mustang vs STi Winner Mustang...

Just wanted to share this with the forum... I was at an underground racing event and I came up against an STi. The owner of this car was talking thrash about my Stang, saying how his STi eats Mustangs for breakfast, and he has never lost to a Stang.. By this time the other rice racers had gathered around and started in on the trash talking as well... I just listened and then I said ok, let's race... He said you don't want to race me man, I would just embarress you in front of all my boys here... I said ok I guess you are just scared... He said ok let's do it man, give your money to this guy... So I handed over the money, he did the same and we approached the line I could here all the rice'es laughing and talking trash... The race started and off we went, I had him by about two car lengths and he hit the N20 then passed me, Then my blower started to wind up... The next thing I saw was the finish line and the next this guy in his tricked out STi saw was my tail lights... I went to pick up my money and you know what there was no cracking up, no trash talking just silence and disbelieve, I got no more action that night... Mustang wins again...

You know, you sound really respectable and all, but one, your story sounds like it came STRAIGHT out of Fast and Furious, and...since when do S/Cs have to "wind up"?

ATI doesn't sell centrifugal S/Cs as far as I know...

I dont really understand it when V8s use forced induction... isnt the whole point of there big badass engines that fact that thats all they need? Anybody with enough boost can run 11s, we just do it with 4 cylinders less. Plus, with a turbocharger there goes the torque problem as long as you keep into the upper rpms. Props anyways... 11s are pretty damn quick. If you want to be one of those import hating mustangs dont use a supercharger... it just doesnt seem right. Just my opinion, and by the way, I like chevys, especially LS1s.

Sorry to double post, but if you are all about speed, then do whatever, throw on a 150 shot and turn up the boost, but not when your an "anti-ricer," it seems kind of ironic.

Anyways if the race is real it sounds like an excellent race and a good kill, but personally it sounds like your working on the script for a movie called "Domestic Rice"

This race happens about once a month at an old airport in the Miami Fl area. As for the ATI not making superchargers, I don't know where you got that from, because they are one of the leaders in the centrifugal Super Chargers. The model I have is the P-1SC with 9psi of boost and a intercooler, This supercharger works in the 1500 -6500 range and you can actually hear it spin up in the car's cabin when you hit 4500 rpms. I am going to up the bost to 14 psi so I can get into the 10's and still drive it to work and the track.

ATI web site www.procharger.com

Check it out for your self.

As for fast and furious, that movie was a joke and anyone who races knows that it is all hollywood.

The 4cyl rice'es are pretty incredible little cars and anyone who can get these into the 12's or 11's get my respect... I know how hard it is to get an 8 cyl in the 12's and 11's...

I was just shareing a race experience with this forum, as I like to read other's stories. I am sure there is a ricey out there that can smoke me. Just as if anyone one believes that thier ride is the fastest are either a nut case or completely detached from reality. There will always be a faster car... My car included, I can think of atleast half a dozen cars that are running 10's and even 9's that are driven on a daily basis...

Take Care, Great forum

Keep um running fast and don't miss your gear, Peace!!!

No, no, no...you got me all wrong.

I didn't say they don't make S/Cs, just that they I thought they didn't make centrifugal S/Cs, which would explain why your S/C would need to "wind up".

All the ATI systems I've seen personally were screw-types, and the P1SC you said you have, which though it is a centrifugal, doesn't need to "wind up" like say, a Vortech one does.

But I can see where you're coming from, as the gear-driven ATIs are still reliant on engine RPMs to build full-boost.

Maybe you should've said it was your motor that "wound up" to give yo full boost.

Now there is a thought, a 150 shot of N20 and the ATI supercharger could be fun.
