HELP: A4 Transmission Problem?

I own 1999 Audi A4 2.6ltr which is having a weird problem. when the speedometer passes between 40 and 60km/hr, i feel a vibration on the whole body of the car. But when it passes 60km/hr (also before it reaches 40km/hr), the vibration is gone. Until now the assumption of the problem is pointed at the transmission (that is according to the audi dealer). Is it a problem if i use the other ATF oil instead of from the Audi itself? i am using Dexron III Mobil 1. the dealer said i should use the original Audi ATF oil to solve the problem. Any more ideas what kinda problem i have with my A4 and how to resolve it? thanks in advance.

Re: HELP: A4 Transmission Problem?

You should be using the Audi fluid in your trans!!!!!!!! I have heard of center drive shaft issues on Quattro models, causing strange vibrations!!!!!! Question have you had your wheels balanced ? Remember Audi fluid in the trans!!!!!!! Your friendly audi tech.

Re: HELP: A4 Transmission Problem?

I have just balanced my wheels and i found out that both front wheels are bad. I swap those fronts with rears then , hence the vibration is still there but better. I am gonna swap four of them with others tommorow at the dealer..see if that the coz of the vibration. If not then my trans is broken or something gonna fill it with the original audi fluid though
