V8 turbocharger

Does anyone know where to look for a turbocharger for a 1992 5.7 liter V8 p/u? I'm trying to find out cost/preformance and I don't know where to begin.

Re: V8 turbocharger

I recommend to use turbochargers from diesel trucks. There's usually a few that "falls of trucks" and can be bought cheap. The price on restored units aren't that high either. Since they are matched for diesel trucks they can sometimes need to be matched for their new application with a smalelr turbine house for example.

If the power requirements are lower, turbochargers from gasoline cars can be used. OEM turbochargers can usually be found quite cheap.

Re: Re: V8 turbocharger

i dont know about the whold diesel turbo charger bit.
but i say go with a big a\r because you guys have big displacement motors so you wont have problems spoolin a big turbo, i say go for like a .80 trim on the a/r or even go a little smaller like .72 and get a twin turbo setup one turbo for each bank.
jus look into turbos form a big mainfacture, or yea go to google and type in turbo mustang and seee what youc can find
