My civic revs up when going from 4th to 5th gear. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Hiya noob, welcome to the forum!
Jeez, it could a lot of things, sticky throttle cable, sticky throttle body, IAC (idle air control), throttle dashpot, throttle position sensor, there may be codes stored, your not lifting your foot off the gas between shifts, etc. What kind of mechanical experiance do you have? |

I'm not good with mechanics, my dad is the mechanic. It only revs up when shifting from 4th to 5th.

the car also has a problem with the vacuum lines because when at idle, the car almost stalls out. Could it have something to do with that?
