Question Hello Guys

Hello, I'm new to the Street Racer World and have become quite interested in its activities and what not. I live in New Zealand near a town called Masterton, we have had some problem with Boy Racers (Thats what we call you guys here) "Sorry". I currently drive a Stock Holden Comodore Berlina 2.0L its nothing compare to you guys cars but it gets me round.

I am thinking of purchasing a Nissan Skyline 2.5 or above, any hints on what I should be looking for in the Skyline range? From 1990-1995. I am looking for a car that has street apeal and can GO if it wants to.

I currently race, well not really race, just have fun on Friday's going to a long open road and Speed testing our cars to 170 kmph then I had to slow for a corner. The car is a 3 spd Auto with Over drive.

Most of my friends cars are 1.8, 2.0, 2.2 and a 2.4.

Do you think I should get Manual or Auto again?

Most of the cars around Masterton are Skyline's, Primera's, Civic's and Subaru's. There roughly round 2L+, do you think I would have a chance if I purchased the Skyline?

Thanks for your help.

P.s. Im not a little Boy racer wanna-be, to many of my friends have been killed due to drinking and speed, I just want to go to these events and have some sensible fun.

first off, welcome!!!

hmm yeah, if youre getting the skyline, i think the scoobarus would give you a lil trouble, but, you should be good to go...

Its really your call for manual/automatic. Its whatever you're most comfortable with. I know a lot of people are saying "NO! AUTO WILL NEVER BE AS FAST AS MANUAL!" well, imo, you can always tune your auto to shift to perfection. Personally, id go for the manual, its more fun.

So, if youre getting the car, what are you gonna do for mods?

Thanks for the reply's

I don't really know much about modifications and all but I am willing to listen to any ideas you have about modifications on the Skyline?

Also, is the Skyline alright just left as stock?

Thanks

P.s. I forgot to mention the pics are what I'm looking for, so you know what I am on about.

I think you can import a skyline for about 50K now. I'm pretty positive that's right. Well it's late so I'll talk to you all later.

He lives in Austrailia. No need to import a Skyline.
What about the Holden's with the bigger motors?
I've seen a few REALLY fast Commodores.

Good luck with the Skyline build-up.
