1993 Cutlass Supreme Acceleration problem.

I have a 93 cutlass supreme and recently i had the fuel regulator and sensor replaced since it would just die in middle of nowhere and thats what the dealership thought the problem was. Well 2 months later I have a problem with accelaration where in the begining it would run fine then it would raise in speed very slowly and when the gas is stepped on it wont accelerate but very slowly. Same thing when in drive 1 or 2. I purchased high octane booster and it fixed the problem in a week but problem arose again. I turned to medium gas and it temp fix the problem, any assistants is appreciated. Repair quotes at local shops are asking for $179 just to look at it. Also where can i buy schematics on this model?

I had similar problem on my '88 Ciera only the acceleration problem came first followed by the dying when idling in a traffic jam.

Nobody has directly addressed both of these problems combined, but from reading answers to posts, I get the impression it could be the crankshaft position sensor.

Try cleaning the fuel system. You should find alot of products at any auto parts store to do this job.

i read just a little bit ago that some 93's like mine and yours were made without any 3rd or 4rth or without 2nd and 3rd gear (in those sets) its supposed to be because of a bad ground connection in the shift selanoids.

I have a similar problem with a 94 supreme. Been happening off and on for years and no one seems to be able to fix. Comes and goes. Speedometer and tach will bounce around. Will not accelerate or accelerates/slows down on its own.
Did anyone ever figure this out?
