bosch KE Jetronic pressure actuator

I am having trouble with my car not running. It will start but shuts down after about 2 seconds. I have removed the injector feed pipes and found no fuel flowing through when the engine is cranked. I am suspicious of the pressure regulator mounted on the side of the fuel distributor. Does anyone know how to test it? There are two wires on it which I assume come from the ECU.

Hmm,

KE by Bosch is also known as CIS.

On a BMW I will supply a diagram and the pump pressure testing.

From the pump the pressure should be 71 psi.

Re: KE Jetronic

Thanks Ron, Tried the pump and OK. Put it all back together and now working fine. Maybe the Gremlin went away. Thanks again for all the info.

Mustang's comment was most likely intended to indicate that he thought Ron's post was substantially more helpful than is the standard here, or at least that he considered it to be a very helpful post. The smiley, in this case, indicates that it is a good-humoured or friendly comment, and shouldn't be taken as a criticism. It's commonly the case, in forums such as this one, that well-intended comments are poorly received due to a misinterpretation by the reader of the author's tone, or a failure of the author to effectively communicate the meaning or intention of his post. The smiley and other "emoticons" are basically shorthand to facilitate the conveyance of emotional content that would normally be carried by body language and tone of voice, without the verbosity of posts like this one or published literary works. Obviously emoticons are ineffective if their meaning is not understood by the audience, but I think that a smiley face is well recognized as a "happy" or "friendly" symbol.

In short, mustang has not added technical information to the discussion, but he has given Ron a "pat on the back" for his post.

Re: bosch KE Jetronic pressure actuator

Wow Ivymike, that post was equally as comprehensive as rons, but in an entirely more humorous manner.
