Re: Re: SHift kit for auto
I have been in contact with Dean Mason the guy who makes the Translab Kits. I am waiting to hear back from him about getting permission to post his own FAQ's about the shift kits. I can type up a few key points but i really want to copy/paste the whole thing.
You are most likely inquiring about is the TransLab "TL-175-HP". This is often referred to as the "black spring kit" by DSM'ers. 1. The most common trans models KM175, KM175.5, KM176, KM177, F4A22, F4A23 F4A33, W4A32, W4A33, A4EF1, A4EF2, A4BF1 or A4BF2. 2.IN ADDITION TO REDUCING SHIFT LAG, THIS KIT FIXES:2-3 flare, coast downshift clunk, part throttle 3-2 bang, OD won’t engage (kickdown / liftfoot / back on throttle), end clutch failure, neutrals at a stop, no engagement (no converter fill), 4-2 kickdown runaway, 3rd gear start, delay / slip / no forward, slide 1-2, delay reverse, no upshift
