ZC Swap info

If I want to do the ZC swap in my Civic STD (with the 1.5L and 4 speed). All I really need from the wiring standpoint is a complete 91 Civic SI wire harness...correct? Now a complete wire harness is the wire harnessfrom the ECU to the engine or the firewall to the engine. I want to use factory wiring on this project so that the swap is as smooth as possible. I am using a SI tranny (91) so does that mean I need the SI axles or will the ones from my current car work with the SI tranny. I have plenty more to ask since I am a v-8 guy getting into the Honda seen.

Thanks,

Re: ZC Swap info

I dont think the hubs on the STD are the same as the SI ones (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

this would mean the axles wouldn't fit and you'd either need different axles or to change the hubs. Not really sure what the easiest route is though I'm kinda curious too since I have a STD.

I know the DX/SI axles will work with the SI tranny but I know you also need the respective knuckles to. Instead of buying the complete SI harness...go follow the directions on fourthgenhatch.com in the How-To section for the DPFI to MPFI swap and save yourself some money. Dont worry about the wiring as long as you can follow directions and solder and not crimp you should have no problems. When your done just cover it in looming and electrical tape to make it look factory. The directions for wiring are the same for the DX and STD.

Re: ZC Swap info

I did the swap in my STD. so here are the things you'll need........ Get the steering knuckles/hubs of any 88,89,90,91 civic/crx. The std. has 23 splines or 21 splines the dx/si have whichever the std doens't. Get the std/dx to zc wiring. I would suggest the fourthgenhatch.com website also.

Don't try to swap the ends of the axel. it doesn't work. they're different sizes.
