Cruise Control Does Nothing...

I have a '91 Cutlass Ciera and the Cruise Control does not work.
It simply does nothing. I do not see any fuse for it.
Everything on the turn signal/headlight-dimmer/wiper control works except the Cruise Control.
I did use and test light and no wires going to the Cruise Control Motor have any power, so I'm assuming that it is in that control.
Has anyone had any Cruise Control Problems with this type of vehicle that they could point out? And maybe what it took to fix it.
Thanks!

Re: Cruise Control Does Nothing...

In addition to that black circular vacuum box (called cruise control servo), follow the vacuum line and it's T-fitting. The vacuum line is also used by another devices and so just check the T-fitting and follow the vacuum hoses.

The cruise control vacuum hose goes inside the vehicle and the vacuum hose goes to the brake pedal.
You may have to remove the cover below the steering column so you can see better and have access around the brake pedal. There is a button switch on the brake pedal and connected to the vacuum line. That button switch on the brake pedal is used to disengage the cruise control when the brake pedal is pressed down. Make sure that the button switch is fully pushed in (closed) when the brake pedal is not applied otherwise if the brake pedal is fully pressing on the button switch then the cruise control is disengaged all the time. Make sure the button switch vacuum hose is not loose.

Re: Cruise Control Does Nothing...

Read on an older post that if one of your rear window brake lite bulbs is burnt your cruise wont work either. If all else fails check those.
