Unhappy Missing under load

Hey everyone, I'm new to the Forum and need some help with my Grand Marquis 5.0L It's developed a miss under load, it doesn't matter if it's cold or warm, but as soon as I get on the gas the miss comes, if I back off, and get back on it it sometimes clears up. This car also idles high at times which make me guess it's the pressure regulator. I also have a 5.0L HO intake set up and mustang injectors, wondering how much of a pain it is to swap that intake into a Crown Vic/Grand Marquis and if anyone has done it. Thanks everyone

Colin

Re: Missing under load

One possible cause,Check your spark plug wire resistance, if too high will cause this problem. Had it happen a few times. It idled good but soon as you put some power on it misses.

Re: Missing under load

Might try a tank of 89 octane. Fixed my pinging problem.

What Year? my 98 has no plug wires, but if yours does, when did you last do plugs and wires, sounds like an ignition problem.

He has a 82-91 Crown Vic. Your car has the new 4.6 liter started in 98 wich dont have wires has coil packs that fit over the sparkplugs. When we got my Dads 99 Crown Vic i was going crazy looking for wires. Go to www.crownvic.net for information on your car..

Talking

Thanks for the info, but I already know what I have. I was trying to find out what year he had, since PAT_96 was telling him to check his plug wire resistance.
